BoJack Horseman is undoubtedly one of Netflix’s big breakout hits. Hugely popular with young adults – it’s been a while since we heard anything about the upcoming Season 4 of the show. Thankfully the wait is almost over – as it’s been announced that the popular animated series will be returning to Netflix on September 8th.
The news came via social media, with both Netflix and the shows own accounts posting the news;
It’s great news for those of us who’ve been waiting for the show to make its grand return. The last two seasons touched down in July of 2015 and 2016 – meaning this is the first time since the initial season that we’ll be seeing the show arrive so late.
Created by Raphael Bob-Waksberg, BoJack Horseman is an adult animated sitcom. Starring Will Arnett, the cartoon premiered on August 22nd, 2014. The show wasn’t a critical darling upon its 2014 release, but has managed to amass a huge cult following over the years. It’s score over on Rotten Tomatoes has improved over the years – reflecting this change in opinion.
The show’s also managed to bag several Critics Choice Awards over the years. It won earlier this year for best Animation at the Writers Guild of America Awards for the episode Stop The Presses.
Currently there are three seasons of the show on Netflix, with 12 in each outing. There’s also a Christmas special episode that aired in 2014 – so there’s plenty for new comers to dive into.
I’m personally a huge fan of the show, but I can understand why some of its more abstract humor doesn’t connect with wider audiences. There’s a lot to be said about a show that follows the exploits a drug/alcohol dependent BoJack Horseman as he wanders through his celebrity lifestyle.
Will you be checking out the show when it returns to Netflix?
