Reports suggest that the Braun Strowman will be missing up to two months of WWE action – couldn’t have come at a worse time.
Deep breath time WWE fans. It’s being reported that Monday Night Raw’s Braun Strowman will be missing the next 4-8 weeks of WWE programming, to undergo minor elbow surgery.
The news comes via ProWrestlingSheet, which has stated that the undisclosed injury/surgery will keep the Monday Night Raw Superstar on the shelf for a number of weeks. It’s forced a creative re-write, with planned matches for Extreme Rules and Great Balls of Fire being thrown up in the air.
Rumors suggested that Roman Reigns and Braun were set to compete one final time at the upcoming Extreme Rules, with a possible WWE Universal Championship match against Brock Lesnar pencilled in for the Great Balls of Fire PPV.
It should be noted that Braun’s character has been written off TV with a torn rotator cuff injury. That’s set to play out on tonight’s edition of Monday Night Raw – which has already been recorded in the UK.
Strowman has been working the WWE European Tour against Roman Reigns – however these matches usually never started officially. It’s been an interesting way of keeping the pair from fighting.
Braun has found himself in the process of a huge push in recent months, with WWE placing a lot of stock in the rising Superstar. We’ll be interested to see how this affects his momentum moving forward.
