Bryan Cranston Reportedly In Line For Uncharted Movie

Reports suggest that Bryan Cranston is in line to for a major role within Sony’s upcoming Uncharted movie. Who would you want to see him play?

Sony are pushing hard for the upcoming Uncharted movie to be a huge success. Having tied a number of strong actors to the project, reports suggest that they’re looking to add even more star power to the movie’s roster – with Bryan Cranston seemingly in line to play a major role in the flick.

That’s according to That Hashtag Show, which reports that Cranston is being eyed up for a “large supporting” role. There’s no specifics over which character that may end up being although the website does speculate quite heavily that it may end up being the movie’s villain.

Cranston has become a mainstay of Hollywood’s blockbuster movies in recent times. Having played picked up roles Godzilla and, more recently, Zordon in the Power Rangers movie reboot. It’s still his turn as the charismatic Walter White in AMC’s Breaking Bad that audiences remember him mostly for. That show is still widely regarded as one of the finest television programmes committed to screen.

The Uncharted movie is already shaping up to be an interesting outing – with Spider-Man: Homecoming’s Tom Holland set to star in the role as Nathan Drake. He will bring a younger take on the character than audiences may be used to from the video games.

Sony is banking big on the film doing well – believing the franchise has the potential to make the leap from video games to the big screen. Given how that path is well worn and largely unsuccessful, it will be interesting to see if they can stick the landing on Naughty Dog’s much-loved Uncharted series.

I’m looking forward to seeing how it all turns out. At the end of the day, it can’t be any worse than the reaction the recent Tomb Raider trailer managed to receive – mocked for poor photoshop and feeling awkwardly out of step with the franchise it represents.

Are you excited to see Cranston’s name being linked with the Uncharted movie?
