Will Daniel Craig return for James Bond? Won’t he return to play James Bond? Fans have been waiting patiently for news of the upcoming James Bond 25 and who it would star. After infamously saying he’d rather “slit his wrists” than play James Bond again – seems the British actor has found the motivation (Or stack of money) to sign up for one more movie.

Appearing on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Craig confirmed that for Bond 25. He also went on to say that this would be his final outing as the British super spy – closing the book on his run as the iconic British secret agent. He told Colbert;

“I think this is it. I just want to go out on a high note. I can’t wait.”

Given that the star has very openly and publically denounced the role, it makes his return somewhat awkward. Not that Eon Productions will seemingly mind as Craig’s last two James Bond outings have netted over $1 billion at the Box Office each. SPECTRE and Skyfall were praised for their approaches to the veteran franchise, the former more than the latter.

I felt hat Craig’s performance in SPECTRE was somewhat underwhelming. You could see that he wasn’t feeling the role anymore, something many critics pointed out. I guess Eon Productions were so scared at the prospect of having to recast James Bond for such a huge movie that they had no choice to throw money at the British actor. Given the potential names that could have filled the role, there is a sense of “what could have been”.

There’s no doubt that Bond 25 will do well at the Box Office. With audiences hungry for a new outing and the hype around the movies 25th incarnation – audiences will likely flock to see it no matter what.

Are you pleased to see Daniel Craig back in the James Bond role?
