Finn Balor’s had no luck since being called up from NXT in the summer. Despite winning the WWE Universal Championship, he was forced to relinquish the title because of a shoulder injury. He worked hard to get back into shape and finally returned to WWE Raw the night after Wrestlemania 33. Sadly, not seven days later, it seems he’s been put back on the injury shelf.
The way Finn's body flails around and how he hits, plus the mat burn on his forehead/nose afterwards, this seems like a legit knock out. pic.twitter.com/acbSdQW7Ij

The incident occurred during the Jinder Mahal vs. Finn Balor matchup. Throughout this match, Mahal was notably failing to land a number of his big hits in the correct way. The one above was the worst of the bunch, with Mahal catching the former WWE Universal Champion clean with elbow. It’s a brutal moment and, as I said during the Raw coverage over on our Wrestling Twitter, looked horrific.
Turns out that sources within WWE have said that Balor has picked up a concussion from the incident. No date has been given for a return, although the company tends to avoid drawing attention to concussion injuries. It means that Balor could be out from anywhere to days, weeks or months.
It sucks for Finn Balor as he had just returned to the main roster. Perhaps worst of all, he was in a match against Jinder Mahal. Of all the things to get injured doing, competing in a throwaway Raw match against Mahal probably isn’t the way fans would have wanted it.
