Kurt Angle To Be Inducted Into WWE Hall of Fame

Former WWE Champion Kurt Angle has been announced as the first inductee into the WWE’s Hall of Fame Class of 2017. Do you think he deserves it?

WWE and Kurt Angle haven’t enjoyed the best of relationships in the past few years. The two party’s have reportedly been working towards working together for a while now, though it seemed that this wouldn’t be the case. Now though, to everyone’s pleasant surprise, Angle is set to headline this years Hall of Fame induction.

WWE released the following statement regarding Angle’s induction;

WWE (NYSE:WWE) announced today that Kurt Angle will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame at a ceremony on Friday, March 31 at the Amway Center in Orlando as part of WrestleMania®Week.

A 1996 Olympic Gold Medalist and one of the most celebrated Superstars in WWE history, Kurt Angle made his WWE debut in 1999. Over the course of his illustrious career, he won every major Championship in WWE as well as the WCW® Championship and WWE King of The Ring®. Angle had memorable rivalries with WWE legends such as “Stone Cold” Steve Austin®, The Rock® and The Undertaker®.

“Kurt Angle’s accomplishments both in the Olympics and WWE were extraordinary,” said WWE’s Executive Vice President of Talent, Live Events and Creative Paul Levesque. “He was one of the most gifted athletes to ever enter the ring, and we are honored to welcome him into the WWE Hall of Fame.”

Tickets for the 2017 WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony go on sale this Friday, January 20 at 10 AM ET through all Ticketmaster outlets, www.ticketmaster.com or by calling 1-800-745-3000. All tickets are subject to service charges and facility fees.

WrestleMania 33 takes place Sunday, April 2 from the Orlando Citrus Bowl live on WWE Network.

Kurt Angle famously abandoned WWE in the mid-2000’s to jump to TNA wrestling. There he continued to wrestle and was an attraction for the promotion for many years. Rumors have suggested he was always seeking a way back to WWE though,a nd with his in-ring career looking close to winding up, it makes sense for the former WWE Champion to return to WWE now.

Angle without question deserves this in my opinion – and I’m glad it’s finally happening.
