Another huge moment during WWE’s Elimination Chamber pay-per-view came in the form of the Smackdown Live Women’s Championship. Alexa Bliss defended her Championship against Naomi in a singles match – with the popular Naomi capturing her first WWE Championship in the process.

Alexa Bliss captured the Championship back in October, when she defeated Becky Lynch for the title. Since then, Bliss has gone on to defend her title inside a Steel Cage and even recruited the help of former WWE Women’s and Diva’s Champion Mickie James. She’s been a strong heel champion and has done very well to make an impact in a division with so many established names.
Naomi first came into WWE during NXT Season 3 – where she was singled out for her wrestling ability. It’s been a long road to the top for Naomi, with her being left in the shadow as other women marched ahead. Back at Wrestlemania 29, her match was taken away from her due to time constraints, an incident she cited on Talking Smack as a huge motivation to get better.
Naomi has been very vocal on social media about getting opportunity. She was reportedly warned a few months back by WWE over her comments, despite the fact her fans were eager to see her rise to the top.
We’ll have to see if she will be able to hold the Championship through to Wrestlemania.
