During Smackdown Live’s Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, a new WWE World Champion was crowned. Who dethroned John Cena as the company’s top man?
Elimination Chamber was a great pay-per-view for Smackdown Live, with lots of noteworthy moments for fans to take away. Perhaps the biggest of these though was Bray Wyatt finally capturing the WWE Championship during the events main event and becoming the Smackdown Brand’s main Champion.

Bray Wyatt overcame five other WWE Superstars to claim the Championship, eliminating John Cena and AJ Styles en route to his victory. Baron Corbin, AJ Styles and The Miz were also competitors in that match.
Wyatt was one of the NXT graduates brought through under Triple H’s stewardship. His rise to the top has been somewhat stagnated over the past few years, with Wyatt becoming something of a joke in the eyes of fans. It’s only since the brand split this past summer that he has been given some creative push.
Wyatt’s only previous Championship gold in WWE came late last year, when he became WWE Smackdown Live Tag Team Champion with Randy Orton. Prior to this, Bray hasn’t held WWE Gold – making this WWE Championship run his first singles outing with gold.
As things stand he will be facing off against fellow Wyatt Family member Randy Orton, who won the WWE Royal Rumble several weeks back. It looks set to be a huge match for Wrestlemania
