Smackdown Live Loses IC Title, Miz & Maryse In WWE Superstar Shakeup

WWE’s Superstar Shakeup delivers its first huge nugget of news, as Dean Ambrose, The Miz and Maryse make their way to Monday Night Raw.

We knew this weeks Superstar Shakeup would change the WWE landscape, but we didn’t expect it to have such a huge impact right out the gate. Within minutes of Monday Night Raw hitting the air, we found out that not only has Smackdown Live lost it’s Intercontinental Championship, but also Miz and Maryse too.

Miz and Maryse were introduced instantly, coming out to John Cena’s music. Accompanied by Maryse, the pair announced that they had “escaped the tyranny of Daniel Bryan”.

On the one hand, I’m saddened that Miz and Maryse won’t have a notable blow off to the feud between Bryan and himself. The pair have lit up Talking Smack’s over the past few months; with hopes that the two could find a way to cap off their increasingly strong-worded feud.

Dean Ambose was quick to join the pair, bringing with him the Intercontinental Championship. It’s official it seems, Smackdown Live has lost it’s secondary Championship and Champion.

For Dean Ambrose though, it’s a chance to regroup and find some new direction in his career. It’s fair to say that his career has dwindled in the months since the WWE Draft. The hope is that on Monday Night Raw, he may find some new direction. It seems bewildering to me that this would happen if the plan isn’t for Kevin Owens to go in the opposite direction.

With the swaps still actively on-going, we’ll be sure to keep you in the loop on who’s swapping brands throughout the week! We called the Dean Ambrose move a few days ago, so we’ll be very interested to see if any of our other picks get shuffled along.

Are you happy to see The Miz, Maryse and Dean Ambrose on Raw? Who do you want to see move in the Superstar Shakeup?
