Terminator 2: Judgement Day is one of Hollywood’s most important films. It came at a time when Arnold Schwarzenegger’s star was white hot and audiences were craving something more from action films. Now modern day audiences will be able to experience the iconic movie in theatres, as James Cameron looks to rinse our memory of the last three horrible outings in the franchise.

It should be noted that Cameron has assembled his own team to remaster the film – who have been working through individual frames to maximise the remaster process. It’s unclear from the Youtube trailer how this 3D holds up, but we’re certainly curious to see just how it translates onto the silver screen.

Terminator 2: Judgement Day is widely considered to be one of the most important films of all time. It served as a watershed moment for CGI, which was blended seamlessly with the action throughout the movie. Even to this day, the movies effects hold up well against modern CGI (Which owes a lot to the groundbreaking nature of Cameron’s classic).

Starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, Robert Patrick, Edward Furlong – T2 should be a riot for fans of the original release. The re-release is set to mark almost 30-years of Terminator 2: Judgement Day and is set to land in cinemas this August for US audiences (Fingers crossed for a worldwide release)
