Wrestlemania 33 takes place this Sunday and with thirteen confirmed matches at the time of writing, there’s plenty of wrestling for fans to dive into. As has become custom on the Wrestlemania two-hour kickoff show, three matches will be made available before the kickoff of the pay-per-view.

WWE.com has confirmed that the following three matches will be taking place on the kickoff match;

Neville vs. Austin Aries (WWE Cruiserweight Title)

Andre The Giant Battle Royale

Smackdown Live Women’s Championship Invitational

It makes sense really. The Andre The Giant Battle Royale appeared on Wrestlemania 31’s pre-show (When Big Show won the event). Neville and Austin Aires is a Cruiserweight match and might help to pull in some punters with their fast paced action.

The biggest surprise is that the Smackdown Live Women’s Championship Invitational will be relegated to the pre-show. Alexa Bliss will be defending her Championship against all comers, with rumors pointing to some legends returning for the bout. I suspect this is because of the sheer number of women who will be involved, allowing WWE to give everyone a payday without committing too much time to the match. It’s a shame, but sadly in the grander scheme there are bigger matches.

At the end of the day it won’t really matter to the talent, they get paid regardless of position on the card. With 13 matches to run through, it’ll be interesting to see how much time the matches on the main card will be given.

Are you happy with the position of the matches?
