If you didn’t catch last nights WWE Payback pay-per-view, you’ll be surprised to hear that Chris Jericho overcame Kevin Owens to capture the United States Championship. We won’t have long to wait until Owens invokes his rematch clause for the Smackdown Live title – as the match has been set for this Tuesday’s edition of the show.

Announced by WWE during Monday Night Raw, the rematch will see the two rivals compete one final time for the US Title. Kevin Owens will be looking to recapture the Championship he won back at Wrestlemania 33.
The victory last night came as a surprise to many WWE fans, who felt Owens was a strong Champion. Last nights victory also means that Chris Jericho became the latest member of the WWE roster to join the Smackdown Live roster.
It’s worth noting that Chris Jericho is set to depart WWE for an extended period, as he’s set to go on tour with FOZZY. Their dates clash with a number of WWE’s upcoming events – indicating that Jericho won’t be featuring at these events. Either he’s got something special arranged – or WWE will be looking to drop the belt back to Owens.
Who do you think will walk out of Smackdown Live as the United States Champion?
