Tis the season for gaming leaks it seems. With Assassin’s Creed: Origins leaking information like a fountain, it’s only fair other games get in on the action too. So it was nice of online retailer Amazon as to reveal the existence of Bethesda and Machine Games upcoming sequel, Wolfenstein 2: New Colossus.

The leak not only confirms the existence of the title, it also gives the game a release date of October 26th. That would fall in line with Bethesda’s recent trick of announcing and releasing games within shorter cycles.

The listing also confirms that the game will be arriving on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. Seems as though Bethesda’s recent flirtations with Nintendo Switch weren’t enough to secure a spot for the anticipated sequel on Nintendo’s device.

It should be noted that, like all good leaks, Amazon has quickly moved to yank the title down.

Wolfenstein 2: New Colossus is a follow-up the critically successful Wolfenstein. That title surprised many critics back when it released, offering a.robust focus on single player that allowed the title to stand head and shoulders above the competition. The sequels existence was teased during last year’s E3 conference, when the game appeared during Bethesda’s DOS mockup.

We’re hugely excited for Wolfenstein 2: New Colossus. Bethesda’s decision to hand the franchise to new developers has allowed it to reach a new audience. Wolfenstein 3D is iconic for helping to establish the first person shooter genre, yet many of the franchise’s followup titles haven’t managed to achieve the same success. Arguably it was Return to Castle Wolfenstein that peaked players interests in the early 2000’s.

It’ll be great to jump back into the Wolfenstein universe, and with a title like New Colossus’s – we can’t wait to imagine just how much shooting of Nazis will be occuring.
