Last week on Monday Night Raw, The Miz overcame Finn Balor and Seth Rollins to become the number one contender for the Intercontinental Championship. While many expected that match to take place at the next Raw exclusive PPV Extreme Rules, WWE has seemingly made the decision to bring that match forward to next week.

The change was announced during tonight’s edition of Monday Night Raw, the Championship match will see The Miz take on Dean Ambrose compete once again for the IC Championship.

The match will mark the continuation of the pairs Smackdown Live feud, which Dean Ambrose ultimately won. Miz was the Intercontinental Champion for much of 2016, winning it the night after Wrestlemania and holding it until well into the end of 2016.

The pair spent much of tonight’s Raw competing against each other as Raw General Manager’s. Kurt Angle didn’t make the journey to the UK with the rest of the WWE crew, so both were appointed as stand-in General Managers for the night. The two spent much of the evening one-upping each other, with Dean booking The Miz into a match against Finn Balor.

Who do you expect to walk out of Raw as the WWE Intercontinental Championship? Has Dean Ambrose been an effective Champion?
