Bethesda E3 Conference Predictions

Screen Critics Zak takes a look at the upcoming E3 2017 Bethesda conference, predicting what he feels will come out of the event.

For the third year in a row, Bethesda Studios will be ending the first night of E3 with a conference at 9 pm Pacific on Sunday, June 11th. Could we be getting information on perhaps a new space RPG from the company that brought us Skyrim and ]? Well, strap in as I bring you Screen Critics predictions for the Bethesda E3 2017 Conference.

Wolfenstein: New Colossus

Back in  2014 Machine Games released Wolfenstein: The New Order to mass praise by both news outlets and gamers. They followed that up with the standalone DLC Wolfenstein: The Old Blood in May 2015 which was also widely praised. During the E3 2016 conference from Bethesda, they opened with a very quick list of games disguised as a bootup screen. This list contained the names and release dates of Bethesda created games. One game on this list is called New_Colossus.

This appears to be a new DLC or full-length game in the Wolfenstein Series. As you can see it does not have a release date and that is still true. In fact, we still don’t have an official confirmation from Machine Guns but we do in fact have what seem to be confirmations from both BJ Blazkowicz voice actor Brian Bloom and VP of Marketing for Bethesda Pete Hines. Hines said while on the Kinda Funny Gamescast, “Machine Games has been hard at work on something, which I can tell you I have played. It’s fu*cking bananas.

I can’t wait to show what it actually is,” and Bloom said in an interview with Two Left Sticks on the subject of the what Machine Games is working on, “If you look at Bethesda’s E3 2016 lineup there was a title hinted at in a cool way. It sparked a bit of wildfire. That subtle, very simple DOS language, going through the titles. Perhaps we’re working on that as we speak.” I am very much hoping for a new Wolfenstein as I was a very big fan of the last two entries in the series.

Fallout (VR and possibly DLC)

This is a shorter entry as we know already that Fallout VR is coming to HTC Vive in the near future. I believe we will get a date of release for this add-on to the core Fallout game. I have hopes we will also get a version for the PSVR but that is simply my hopes and dreams. I have hopes that we might get a tease at a possible new Fallout entry much like a New Vegas to Fallout 3. Perhaps we will see the long rumored Fallout, New Orleans.

While it seems Obsidian has shot down that rumor, I could still see it being a way to close out the conference.

Dishonored 2 DLC

While there was and still isn’t a season pass for the Arkane Studios sequel, it is still possible we could see a big DLC much like the Bridgmore Witch`es from the original Dishonored. I for one would go back to Dishonored 2 for a DLC pack.

Doom 2?

Doom (2016) was one of my biggest surprises from last year. Could we possibly see a trailer for a new Doom? Probably not, but we could absolutely see an announcement of a sequel from id software after the commercial and critical success of the most recent Doom. But they should maybe leave the multiplayer out of it and just put out a console Quake?!

Elder Scrolls Spinoff/ Elder Scrolls 6?

This is the game that has been on my mind ever since Bethesda released the announcement for Skyrim Remastered. I was a huge fan of Skyrim when it originally released in 2011 and I have looked forward to another main series game in the Elder Scrolls series (not an MMO) and I hope to see an announcement for a new Elder Scrolls game or maybe this rumored Starfield game which would be an ES or Fallout game in space.

Then there is the PC card game Elder Scrolls Legends. While this game has already been released on PC. But could we see a console version announced to combat the upcoming Gwent card game from CDProjekt Red?

Evil Within 2?!?!

This is my Hail Mary here. I was a gigantic fan of The Evil Within when it was originally released in 2014. I have played through the game multiple times in the past few years. I have patiently awaited a follow-up to this survival horror game after the cliffhanger at the end of the original. While it was not the most popular game released from a Bethesda company in the past few years I believe it could strike big if there is a sequel released. So here’s hoping for a sequel
