With Mickie James returning to WWE this past week, there’s been plenty of speculation over what the former WWE Women’s and Divas Champion will be getting up to. Some of this has centered on whether she, Nikki Bella and John Cena will be able to work together given the awkward history some of those people share.. Seems Mickie James is aware of this speculation on social media and has opted to address them directly.

Using her time on Lilian Garcia: Making Their Way To The Ring, Mickie addressed the situation;

“We’re all adults, and you know obviously this business is what it is. We’ve all had our share of relationships failed”

“I would hope that, and I’m pretty sure that it’s going to be pretty awesome, because I’m sure that I’m going to have to work with Nikki in the ring and I know that we could do some really amazing stuff”

For those not in the know, Mickie James and John Cena had a brief relationship back in 2008. Around this time the pairs off-screen chemistry found its way onto the TV product, with the two seemingly heading for an on-screen love story. That awkwardly got canned when the two broke up for realsies, with WWE ejecting all plans for the story. Of course it left a lot of fans curious and idle speculation is the favorite pass time of the internet.

Some more scandalous rumors at the time suggesting that Mickie’s decision to leave WWE was in part prompted by this breakup – although this was debunked by Mickie across numerous interviews in the last few years. Mickie actually makes clear in the interview that she believes her and Nikki Bella could tear the roof off an arena if they worked together – which we’re inclined to agree with.

The reality is that they’re all adults, they’ll be able to work together and probably come out better for it all. For our money, we’re totally expecting this to play out in some kind of story line. WWE tends to dabble with real-life drama,and this would give plenty of fuel to a Nikki/Mickie rivalry.
