Ask fans of modern WWE which group they’d want to see reunited and the answer would probably be The Shield. The group were insanely popular back in their original run, managing to amass a huge fanbase. Now, after weeks of teasing, the group have finally reunited on WWE Monday Night Raw.

Earlier this summer, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose teamed up to capture the WWE Tag Team Championships from Cesaro and Sheamus – setting in motion the events that would ultimately lead to The Shield reuniting. After several weeks of suffering beatdown from The Miz and his various companions, Roman Reigns ultimately made the decision to recruit his former teammates to help him out.

It’s a huge moment for fans of the group, who have been waiting a long time to see the three WWE Superstars come together.

The Shield arrived in WWE back in November 2012, arriving at the Survivor Series pay-per-view. Used as a way of getting Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns over, the group very quickly established themselves as main event players within the WWE – going on to defeat the likes of Big Show, John Cena and even The Undertaker in the following months. Their impressive run won them many fans and saw the group eventually go on to capture WWE gold, with the group managing to capture the WWE Tag Team Championships and the WWE United States Championship.

In June 2014, Seth Rollins turned on his teammates – aligning with Triple H’s Authority and moving on to become a singles competitor. Ambrose and Reigns continued to work together throughout that summer – until eventually going their own way.

Since breaking up, the Shield have gone on to capture the WWE World Heavyweight Championship six times between them – most amusingly the three members of The Shield holding the World Championship within a three minute period at the 2016 Money in the Bank pay-per-view event.

The team will face off against The Miz, Cesaro and Sheamus at the upcoming Raw-Exclusive PPV TLC.

Are you excited to see The Shield reunite?
